Farewell to a Childhood Hero
It remains one of the fondest memories I have of my father when the Dodgers finally won their first World Series in 1955. We watched that 7th game on the Magnavox TV we had in our den; and, as old Brooklyn people, this was a HUGE deal. I saw Podres interviewed recently in one of the profiles that was done about those last few Dodger teams that played in Brooklyn; and he was one tough old ball player.
